There comes a point in life when you realise that growth doesn’t have an age limit.
For me, returning to university wasn’t a decision I made overnight. It was something that had been on my mind for a long time. Like many people, life took me in different directions. Work, responsibilities, and the demands of everyday life meant that education became something I left behind.
But the desire to learn never disappeared.
The idea of returning to university later in life was both exciting and intimidating. I wondered whether I would fit in, whether I could still study effectively, and whether I was making the right decision. There were moments of doubt, but there was also a feeling that if I didn’t take this opportunity now, I might regret it later.
What I’ve already discovered is that being an older student comes with advantages. Life experience brings perspective, discipline, resilience, and a clearer sense of purpose. I’m not here because I have to be; I’m here because I want to be.
This blog, Learning Reset, is where I’ll share my experiences as a mature student returning to university. I’ll write honestly about the challenges, the successes, the lessons learned, and the occasional setbacks along the way.
My hope is that this blog will help anyone who is considering returning to education, changing careers, or simply proving to themselves that it’s never too late to learn something new.
This journey is about more than earning a degree. It’s about growth, confidence, and embracing new opportunities.
Thank you for joining me as I begin this new chapter.
The reset starts here.
